The newly constructed temple in Ayodhya witnessed grand celebrations as the consecration of the new idol of Ram Lalla took place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi actively participated in the rituals, walking inside the temple premises with a silver 'chattar' and taking 'sankalp' for the "pran pratishtha ceremony." Dressed in a golden kurta and cream dhoti, he performed rituals in the sanctum sanctorum, accompanied by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Tens of thousands of devotees celebrated outside the temple in Ayodhya, with military helicopters showering flower petals from the sky.
The day commenced with a morning puja followed by the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla in ‘Mrigashira Nakshatra’. The 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony, initiated at 12:20 pm, concluded by 1 pm.
During the completion of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, Prime Minister Modi symbolically opened the eyes of the deity, signifying the consecration and awakening of the divine presence. Following this act, air force helicopters showered flowers on the deity, enhancing the grandeur of the event. In a gesture of reverence, Prime Minister Modi then touched the feet of the deity, marking the completion of the significant ceremony.
