Ban on telecast of 'Pran Pratistha' in Tamil Nadu sparks allegations by Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has leveled serious accusations against the Stalin government, alleging a ban on the live telecast of the Pran Pratistha programs scheduled for January 22 in Tamil Nadu. Sitharaman claims that temples under the administration of the Tamil Nadu government have also prohibited the worship of Lord Ram on the day of the consecration of the grand temple in Ayodhya.

According to Sitharaman, there are reports of restrictions on puja, bhajan, prasad, and annadaan specifically related to Shri Ram in temples managed by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department (HR&CE). Private temples are also reportedly facing police interference, with organizers being threatened to dismantle pandals. While Sitharaman strongly condemns these alleged actions as anti-Hindu, Tamil Nadu Minister PK Shekhar Babu denies any such restrictions and suggests the rumors are a diversionary tactic.
