No-permission policy for legal building repairs: Mayor

The Mayor of Kolkata, Firhad Hakim has clarified on Saturday during his 'Talk to Mayor' initiative made some important announcements. The Mayor stated that no permission, either from the police or the corporation, is required for repairs in a legal building, as long as the structure and moldings are not altered.

In a move inspired by the High Court, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation will now make all hearing dates available on its website, along with records of case history. The website will be regularly updated within three to four days.

Addressing water-related issues in certain areas, the Mayor has stated that Rs 700 crore has been spent on a dredging project covering all boroughs to address such problems, assuring residents that the issues will be resolved in due time.

While speaking on the upcoming rally on 22nd Jan, he added that the organization of a Sadbhavna rally is inclusive nature of Bengal under Mamata Banerjee's leadership. He assured that the rally will be a peaceful and meaningful event, with Mamata Banerjee, after performing Kali Puja, leading a historic padyatra with people from all religions to Park Circus ground.
