The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has declared a ban on the sale of meat and fish in the state on January 22, coinciding with the inauguration of the Ram temple. This move follows the earlier announcement prohibiting the sale of liquor on the same day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to preside over the consecration ceremony, with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat also attending. Over 7,000 individuals have been invited to the ceremony by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, and the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony will be conducted by priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit, scheduled to conclude by 1 pm.
The consecration rituals, spanning seven days, commenced on Tuesday, including various forms of puja and a divine bath for the idol of Ram Lalla with 125 urns on January 21. Following the January 22 event, the Ram temple will be open to devotees, expecting thousands of pilgrims and tourists from across India daily.
