The Income Tax Department has conducted raids on the premises of prominent coal businessmen in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, including Anil Goyal. The targeted individuals, including Deepak Poddar, Sushil Agarwal, Nitin Agarwal, and Sabir Alam, are accused of tax evasion.
The IT team simultaneously conducted raids at 8-10 locations in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, focusing on major coal traders in the region. Anil Goyal, a notable figure in the coal business, and others are under investigation for alleged tax irregularities.
The Income Tax Department formed multiple teams to execute the raids, targeting residences, offices, and other properties associated with the coal businessmen. The raids extended beyond Dhanbad, reaching Raipur, where Anil Goyal's son-in-law's residence was scrutinized.
The operation also involved questioning individuals such as a milkman associated with Anil Goyal's office. The Border Security Force (SSB) accompanied the IT department team during the raids, ensuring restricted entry and exit. The investigation is ongoing at various locations, with the IT team also conducting surveys at Basudha Udyog in Bokaro.
