In a double celebration for India and Australia, Deepti Sharma and Pat Cummins have been honored as the Women's and Men's Players of the Month for December 2023 by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Deepti Sharma's exceptional performances in Test matches against England and Australia earned her the prestigious award. She showcased her versatility as an all-rounder, accumulating 165 runs and claiming 11 wickets in the two Tests. Notably, her standout moment came against England, where she contributed a crucial 67 with the bat and secured a remarkable 9-wicket haul.
On the other hand, Pat Cummins, the Australian pace spearhead, was recognized for his stellar contributions in the Test series against Pakistan. Cummins played a pivotal role in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, defending 317 in the final innings. His exceptional performance, including two five-wicket hauls, not only reached the milestone of 250 Test wickets but also secured Australia's victory, propelling them to regain the No.1 spot in Tests.
