Youth dies after alleged beating at South Garia drug rehab, family vandalizes centre in protest
A video capturing passengers dining on the tarmac at Mumbai Airport circulated on social media, prompting swift action from the Ministry of Civil Aviation's Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).
On Tuesday, show-cause notices were issued to IndiGo and Mumbai Airport, seeking explanations for the incident. The move came after a midnight meeting chaired by Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia with ministry officials.
The BCAS, in its notices, warned of potential enforcement actions, including financial penalties, if the airline and the airport fail to provide satisfactory responses by the end of the day. The incident has sparked concerns over passenger safety and hygiene protocols at airports, leading to heightened scrutiny from aviation authorities.
