Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth's police custody extended by 5 days in Goa murder case

The police custody of Suchana Seth, CEO of Bengaluru-based AI startup Mindful AI Lab, has been extended by five days by a Goa court. Seth is accused of smothering her four-year-old son at a resort in Candolim, north Goa, on January 8. The Calangute Police requested the extension, citing the need for further interrogation and additional formalities, including collecting Seth's DNA sample.

Despite her husband Venkat Raman's statement being recorded, Seth's alleged lack of cooperation has prompted the extension. Last week, the police made Seth confront her estranged husband, leading to arguments where Raman questioned her about the incident.

The alleged crime involved smothering her four-year-old son with a pillow at a resort in Candolim, followed by an attempt to escape to Bengaluru with the body hidden in a taxi.

The confrontation between Seth and her estranged husband during the investigation led to heated arguments, with Raman questioning her about their child's death. In her statement to the police, Seth denies killing her son but admits to attempting suicide. Clues from the resort, including empty cough syrup bottles and a handwritten note, suggest pre-planning, according to the police.
