Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has announced that her party will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024 independently, opting not to align with either the 'India' or 'NDA' alliances. The declaration was made during a press conference held today, coinciding with Mayawati's birthday. Addressing speculations about her retirement from politics, Mayawati clarified, "Recently, I have declared Akash Anand as my political successor. After this, there is speculation in the media that I may retire from politics. I want to make it clear that I am going to remain in politics. I will stay."
In addition to the political announcement, Mayawati commented on an invitation she received to attend the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for January 22. She stated, "I have received an invitation to attend the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, but as I am busy with some other work, I have not taken any decision.
