Lok Sabha member Danish Ali, recently suspended by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for alleged anti-party activities, has joined the Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Manipur. In a social media announcement, Ali expressed his belief that he would fail in his duty as a politician if he didn't participate in the "biggest drive for unity and justice." He revealed a conscientious decision to combat the exploitation of marginalized communities and address what he perceives as an atmosphere of fear, hate, and deepening division in the country.
The BSP, led by Mayawati, suspended Ali amidst reports of him aligning with Congress leaders. Despite maintaining suspense regarding his entry into the Congress, Ali affirmed his commitment to fighting the BJP. Grateful for his tenure as a Lok Sabha MP under Mayawati, he emphasized his dedication to strengthening the BSP. Congress's Uttar Pradesh chief, Ajay Rai, criticized Ali's suspension as "unwarranted" and pledged support to bolster Ali and his causes.
