Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
The recent attack on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team and central forces during an ongoing raid in Sandeshkhali has ignited a fierce political debate in the state. Bharatiya Janata Party state unit chief Sukanta Majumdar on Friday wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the attack on the Enforcement Directorate team in Sandeshkhali.
While, Opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari took to his social media by posting pictures and videos of the incident on his X handle, seeking Centre's intervention. Additionally, he demanded NIA to investigate the incident. Referring to the topic of Sandeshkhali, Shuvendu wrote on his X handle, “Horrific. Law and ordersituation in West Bengal is in shambles."
"I doubt that Rihingyas are present amongst the Anti National attackers," wrote Adhikari.
On Friday, a mob attacked vehicles of the ED and central forces during a raid being conducted on TMC leader Sheikh Sajahan, close aide of jailed West Bengal minister Jyotipriya Mallick. The probe agency was carrying out raids in connection with the alleged ration scam in North 24 Parganas district's Sandeshkhali.
