In preparation for the anticipated surge in pilgrim footfalls after the January 22 inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, authorities are considering the implementation of future-ready Artificial Intelligence (AI) surveillance for enhanced security. Alongside this technological approach, a significant deployment of 11,000 state police and paramilitary forces is expected for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla.
The introduction of AI surveillance is viewed as a pilot project, with the possibility of becoming an integral component of the security and surveillance measures if proven effective.
The heightened threat perception surrounding the Ram temple in Ayodhya has led authorities to explore AI surveillance capabilities to complement existing security measures. The AI system aims to detect patterns such as frequent visitors or unusual trends within the temple premises, triggering automatic security alerts for follow-up actions by law enforcement agencies. Officials emphasize the need for vigilance in light of the temple's significance, with both manual and social media surveillance being intensified in the lead-up to the consecration ceremony.
The security plan for the event on January 22 involves a massive deployment of 26 paramilitary and PAC companies, along with UP Anti-Terror Squad, Special Task Force teams, and central agencies like the National Security Guards.
