 PM Modi inaugurates development projects in Lakshadweep, accuses previous governments

PM Modi accused previous central governments of neglecting the development of border areas and islands, asserting a shift in priorities during his address at a function in Lakshadweep's Kavaratti. The PM also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth ₹1,156 crore, emphasizing his administration's commitment to the holistic development of remote regions.

 PM Modi underscored his government's commitment to the development of border areas, islands, and coastal regions, asserting that previous administrations had overlooked these crucial regions. He emphasized that, in the last decade, the current government has prioritized the development of these neglected areas, marking a significant shift in approach.

The visit to Lakshadweep included the inauguration and laying of the foundation stone for projects totaling ₹1,156 crore. Notable among these is the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fibre Connection (KLI - SOFC) project, aimed at addressing the challenge of slow internet speed on Lakshadweep Island. The Prime Minister highlighted the government's commitment to providing high-speed internet to the region within 1,000 days.

PM Modi emphasizing the government's dedication to sustainable development. The Solar Power Plant, based on the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), is expected to reduce pollution and minimize the impact on the ocean ecosystem.
