Zomato rider's epic horse ride in Hyderabad amidst fuel shortage steals spotlight

In the video, the delivery agent could be heard talking to a passerby that he opted to arrive on horseback to deliver the food after the pumps ran out of petrol.

Asked what had happened, the horse-rider responded, "Petrol nahi mila bhai. Teen ghante line me khada raha. Zomato se nikal gaya..petrol nahi mila.(There was no petrol. I waited in the queue for three hours. I left after taking the order but couldn't get the petrol).

As long queues and petrol pump closures plagued Hyderabad due to the truck drivers' protest against the new hit-and-run law, a viral video showcased a Zomato delivery agent navigating the city streets on horseback. The short clip captured the delivery agent's arrival at Chanchalguda, near the Imperial Hotel, as he waved to onlookers while carrying a Zomato-logoed bag, highlighting his unconventional mode of transport during the fuel shortage.

The city witnessed extensive queues and traffic jams at fuel outlets as motorists rushed to fill up amid concerns about fuel supply disruptions caused by the truckers' protest. The nationwide truckers' strike, centered around Section 106(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS), aimed to replace the colonial-era Indian Penal Code, introducing stringent penalties for hit-and-run cases. After government assurances to consult stakeholders before implementing the controversial law, the All-India Motor Transport Congress called off the agitation.
