In a morning incident on New Year's Day, a lorry lost control and collided with the divider at Park Circus in Kolkata around 7 am. The mishap, suspected to be influenced by foggy conditions, prompted the driver to flee the scene immediately. Local residents gathered, and the police from the Topsia police station arrived to take custody of the lorry.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the collision, although the impact left bystanders astonished at the force with which the lorry hit the divider. This incident follows a car accident in Kolkata on December 31, raising concerns about road safety despite ongoing initiatives like the Safe Drive Safe Life campaign by the police.
