The Gangasagar fairground is a buzz with preparations as the arrival of the state Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, to Gangasagar approaches. District administration officials conducted inspections along various roads, from the helipad ground to the Gangasagar bus stand and all the beaches.
Notably, a new route, Road No. 6, has been constructed for the convenience of pilgrims this year, providing easier access to the Ganga for bathing, temple visits, and departing for their homes.
The South 24 Parganas District Magistrate, Sumit Gupta, assured that preparations for the Gangasagar Mela are underway with a sense of urgency, and all necessary arrangements will be completed soon. In anticipation of Gangasagar Mela 2024, the district administration is engaged in swift and comprehensive activities at various points in Gangasagar.
