The Rampur police have formed a special team, led by an inspector, to execute a non-bailable warrant issued against former MP and actor Jaya Prada. The warrant is in connection with two cases related to allegations of inaugurating a road in Noorpur village and making objectionable remarks at a public meeting in Pipliya Mishra village, both during the 2019 elections when she contested the Rampur seat on a BJP ticket.
Rampur Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Dwivedi, revealed that the police team has encountered difficulties in tracing Jaya Prada, who has been avoiding court proceedings for the mentioned criminal cases. The court has set a deadline for her appearance by January 10, and the special team is working to ensure obedience.
Despite multiple opportunities, Jaya Prada did not appear for her trial, leading to the issuance of a non-bailable warrant. The police are actively searching for her to ensure her presence before the judge.
In both cases, the investigation was complete and charge sheets have been filed against her in the MP-MLA Special Court.
