In a remarkable achievement, Prabhas starrer Salaar entered the ₹500 crore club at the global box office within six days of its release. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film marks the significant collaboration between Neel and Prabhas and was released on December 22 in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Salaar's official Twitter handle shared the milestone, announcing that the movie has globally crossed the ₹500 crore mark. The film's success adds another feather to Prabhas after facing setbacks with previous releases like Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush.
Salaar, subtitled Part 1 - Ceasefire, received positive reviews, with critics praising its intriguing storyline and the lead actors' nuanced performances. Prabhas, portraying the titular character of Salaar, delivered a strong and captivating performance, marking a solid comeback.
The film, produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Tinnu Anand, and Jagapathi Babu. Salaar's box office success began with an impressive opening day figure of ₹178.7 crore, surpassing the earnings of notable Bollywood releases in 2023.
