Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
In a continuation of the recent mass Gita recitation event that drew lakhs of participants at Brigade Ground in Kolkata on December 24, West Bengal Minister Akhil Giri has announced plans for another significant Gita recitation in Digha. The event is set to coincide with the inauguration of the Jagannath Dev temple situated on the seashore of Digha in the new year.
Minister Giri stated that this mass Gita recitation will specifically target Brahmins from the Purba Medinipur district, with an anticipated participation of 10 thousand people. The initiative aligns with the ongoing construction of the grand Jagannath temple in Digha by the Mamata Banerjee-led government, expected to be completed by the end of 2023, followed by a grand inauguration.
The ambitious project, estimated at a cost of Rs 100 crore, signifies the government's commitment to the cultural and religious heritage of the region. The mass Gita recitation event in Digha aims to celebrate the inauguration of the Jagannath Dev temple, bringing together communities and participants for a spiritual and cultural experience.
