In a shocking incident, AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) leader Arif Jamal was fatally shot by unidentified assailants near Kutub Chhapra roundabout in Siwan district on Saturday night. The incident has raised concerns over the safety of political figures in the region.
Details of the incident reveal that three masked individuals on motorcycles targeted Arif Jamal outside his fast food shop, firing three rounds. Despite being rushed to a private hospital after preliminary treatment at Sadar Hospital, Jamal succumbed to his injuries. Jamal contested to assembly elections in the past.
Meanwhile, SIT has been formed to probe the murder case. Eyewitnesses claimed that criminals made good their escape by brandishing firearms. Assailants opened three rounds of fire as one bullet hit Arif's stomach, they added.
Police stated that the motive behind the murder is yet to be determined as efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits. Raids are being conducted to bring the perpetrators to justice.
