Renowned musician Ustad Rashid Khan is currently in critical condition as he battles serious health issues. The artist has been undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and on Friday he suffered a cerebral stroke, exacerbating his condition.
He is admitted to a private hospital in South Kolkata, where a medical board, including oncologists and neuro medicine doctors, is closely monitoring his health. Ustad Rashid Khan, known for his contributions to classical music and Bollywood, is currently on ventilation support.
Despite having a background in classical music, Ustad Rashid Khan has sung in many Bollywood and Tollywood films. Rashid made his first musical performance at the age of eleven. Ustad Rashid Khan received the Padma Shri in 2006. That year he received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2022.
