They emphasized the need for transparent and expedited recruitment, expressing discontent over the delay in job appointments despite an increase in dearness allowance. The protesters called for immediate and fair appointments to alleviate their grievances.
As the demonstrators proceeded towards Kalighat, the residence of the Chief Minister, to voice their demands, the police intervened, leading to the forceful arrest of the protesters. The arrested individuals were subsequently taken to Lalbazar.
