During the third ODI between India and South Africa at Boland Park in Paarl on December 21, Indian skipper KL Rahul and Proteas' all-rounder Keshav Maharaj engaged in a light-hearted on-field chat captured by the stump mic. India secured a 78-run victory, claiming the series 2-0 against the hosts in South Africa, with KL Rahul becoming only the second Indian captain, after Virat Kohli, to achieve this milestone.
As Keshav Maharaj came out to bat with South Africa struggling at 177/6 during their run-chase, the 'Ram Siya Ram' song began playing in Paarl. KL Rahul, noticing the coincidence of the song playing whenever Maharaj walks out to bat, humorously questioned the all-rounder, who acknowledged the connection.
Maharaj, known for his strong devotion to Hanuman, often hears the 'Ram Siya Ram' song during his cricketing moments. Additionally, it was revealed that Keshav Maharaj would play under KL Rahul's leadership for Lucknow Super Giants in the upcoming IPL 2024, having been acquired for INR 50 lakhs at the recent auction in Dubai.
