INDIA Opposition announce nationwide protest on December 22 against 'MPs Suspension'

In a resolute move against the suspension of opposition MPs in Parliament, the INDIA alliance parties passed a unanimous resolution, as announced by Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge after an Opposition meeting on Tuesday. Expressing strong opposition to the unprecedented suspension of 151 members of Parliament, Kharge declared an all-India protest scheduled for December 22 to denounce the suspensions.

Kharge emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "This is the first time 151 members of the parliament have been suspended in the country. We will fight against this, this is wrong...We have united to fight against this." He reiterated the alliance's commitment to a collective protest against the suspension of MPs, calling it a nationwide issue that demands attention and action.

Responding to media queries about reports suggesting West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee proposed his name as the PM face of the INDIA alliance, Kharge asserted, "Our priority is to win first. Who becomes the PM can be discussed later." He stressed the importance of unity and fighting collectively to secure a majority.

As the INDIA bloc continues deliberations on the PM face, Kharge stated that no final decision has been taken yet. The Congress chief revealed plans for 8-10 meetings across the country, emphasizing the need for alliance partners to come together on one stage to effectively convey their message to the public.

In a significant development, Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, reportedly set a deadline of December 31 for the India alliance to finalize discussions on seat-sharing matters.
