TMC MLA Tapas Roy has addressed the speculations surrounding his alleged association with Lalit Jha, the accused mastermind of the recent Parliament Security Breach. This comes as the BJP shared photos depicting Roy with Jha, indicating potential connection between the accused and the TMC leadership.
TMC Youth Congress General Secretary Saumya Bakshi acknowledged being present in the photograph with Lalit Jha but stated that he had no prior knowledge of Jha's identity.
The BJP's West Bengal unit head, Sukanta Majumdar, further fueled the controversy by asserting a close link between Tapas Roy and Lalit Jha. Majumdar shared a photo featuring TMC leaders Tapas Roy and Saumya Bakshi alongside the alleged mastermind of the Parliament security breach.
In response, Roy, clarified that he was not familiar with Lalit Jha and denied any intentional association. While Bakshi reiterated that the photograph was taken during a Saraswati Puja before the onset of the Covid lockdown, and he only learned about Jha through recent incident.
