As per the latest trends in the ongoing Telangana Assembly elections, the Congress is making significant strides, leading on 64 seats out of the 119-member assembly. Senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury acknowledged that leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) are in contact with the grand old party.
In response to queries about BRS leaders reaching out to Congress, Renuka Chowdhury commented, "Of course! Today's politics is like that. They are in touch with us. Sometimes they take away ours (MLAs), and sometimes theirs come here." The emerging trends show Congress, leading with 58 seats, while BRS is at 41, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at 9, and CPI at 1.
Expressing confidence in Congress's victory, Chowdhury stated, "I had been saying for more than a year because we tapped into the pulse of the public. We understood that a big change is going to come and that is what is happening." She emphasized the understanding among the public about the perceived alliance between BJP and BRS and highlighted the role of AIMIM, suggesting a significant setback for Owaisi in this election.
On the question of party MLAs potentially being shifted to Bengaluru, Congress leader and Karnataka Minister Rahim Khan responded, "If that situation comes, then the party high command will decide." Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, acting as an AICC observer in Telangana, reassured that not a single MLA or candidate would defect due to poaching attempts. TPCC Vice President Kiran Kumar Chamala echoed the sentiment, asserting that the party's MLAs in Telangana will not be swayed.
