In a prelude to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a significant political realignment has taken shape in the state, with 32 families from various areas of New Hasimara in Kalchini block bidding farewell to their former political affiliations, including Congress and BJP, to join the Trinamool Congress. The Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) District Secretary, Anand Chandra, played a pivotal role in welcoming the new members by presenting them with the Trinamool party flag.
The formalities of the switch were completed on Saturday, with Anand Chandra expressing optimism about the strengthened position of the Trinamool Congress in the region saying that "Didi's development work has made these 32 families join the party today, ans because of this our organisation has become even stronger before the Lok Sabha election. "
During the induction ceremony, INTTUC Block Vice President Rajesh Gurung, INTTUC Regional President Rajesh Subba, and other prominent leaders of the Trinamool Congress were present to mark the occasion.
