Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified his criticism of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) ahead of the Telangana assembly polls. Modi claimed that KCR's criticism stems from the BJP rejecting his attempts to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
During a rally in Mahabubabad, Modi revealed that KCR had sought an alliance with the BJP, but the latter refused, leading to ongoing hostilities. Modi asserted that BJP considers it a responsibility to free Telangana from the influence of BRS.
"But BJP can never work against the wishes of the people of Telangana. Ever since BJP turned down KCR, BRS has been baffled. The party doesn't lose any opportunity to abuse me. BRS knows that Modi will never let it anywhere near BJP. This is Modi's guarantee," the Prime Minister said
Emphasizing the BJP's commitment to liberating Telangana from the BRS, PM Modi assured that all of KCR's alleged scams would be thoroughly investigated under BJP rule.
PM Modi also accused the BRS and Congress of indulging in appeasement politics.
"The four wheels and the steering of BRS' 'car' are no different from the 'hand' of Congress. Both these parties indulge in appeasement on the basis of religion. Both of them boosted corruption. Both of them promoted the dynasty. Both of them took appeasement to new heights."
