Mercury to drop 3 degrees in Bengal in next 2 days, says MeT
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday has initiated the process of analyzing the voice sample of Sujay Krishna Bhadra, also known as Kalighater Kaku, the main accused in the cash-for-jobs case in West Bengal. The move comes following a special court order in Kolkata last week.
Three communication releases have been sent by ED officials for this purpose. The first release instructs the Centre-run ESI hospital in Joka, on the southern outskirts of Kolkata, to form a medical board to assess Bhadra's medical condition, as mandated by the special court order on November 25. The second release is directed to the state-run SSKM Medical College and Hospital in South Kolkata, where Bhadra is currently admitted. The special court ordered the formation of a separate medical board in the ESI hospital.
The third communication is sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CSFL) in Kolkata, aiming to expedite the testing process once the ED officials obtain Bhadra's voice sample. The ED aims to complete the entire process by the end of the week. Voice sample testing has become mandatory following a directive from the Calcutta High Court, instructing the conclusion of the investigation into the school jobs case by December 31.
