In a significant breakthrough, the West Bengal Police apprehended three smugglers in the Ranaghat area of Nadia district, seizing a cache of gold valued at over Rs 6 crore.
The operation was carried out on Friday night. Police intercepted a car in Dhantala based on a tip-off and discovered 11 gold biscuits weighing approximately 9.5 kg, with an estimated worth of Rs 6.2 crore.
The arrested individuals are now under police custody as authorities initiate a thorough investigation into the smuggling operation. The case has been officially registered, and efforts are underway to glean information about potential accomplices through interrogation.
