In a significant initiative, one lakh people are set to recite the Bhagavad Gita on Geeta Jayanti in West Bengal, with an invitation extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join as the chief guest. State BJP President Sukant Majumdar, accompanied by representatives from various monasteries and religious organizations in Bengal, departed for Delhi to meet PM Modi and extend the invitation. Majumdar shared this information with the media at Dumdum airport before his departure.
Majumdar highlighted that a grand Gita recital is planned in Kolkata on December 24th, marking Gita Jayanti. The event aims to bring together at least one lakh participants reciting the Bhagavad Gita. Several renowned monasteries and temples in Bengal have collaborated for this initiative, and the invitation is extended to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grace the occasion. Majumdar emphasized the significance of this event and his trip to Delhi with representatives from these religious institutions.
This will intensify the political landscape in West Bengal with the Trinamool Congress gearing up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
