Union Cabinet approves 'One Nation, One Election' Bill: Reports
Madhya Pradesh, in the midst of its assembly elections, recorded a voter turnout of 27.86 percent by 11 am on Friday, according to the Election Commission. However, an alleged incident unfolded at a Chhindwara polling booth involving Congress MP Nakul Nath, the son of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath. BJP workers reportedly obstructed Nakul Nath from entering the polling booth, as captured in a video posted by news agency ANI.
The video depicts workers, purportedly affiliated with the saffron party, preventing Nath's entry, while a Congress worker defends him, claiming the obstruction is unjust. Simultaneously, disturbances were reported at polling booths 147 and 148 of the Dimani assembly constituency in Mirghan, involving stone-pelting and resulting in injuries. The situation has since been brought under control with increased security deployment, as per reports from ANI and the police.
