Tala Prattoy, Durga Puja committee declines 'Durga Ratna' award by the Governor

In a display of artistic brilliance, theTala Prattoy, durga puja committee in North Kolkata has garnered widespread acclaim for their captivating theme which ingeniously played with light and darkness across their mandap. The puja, celebrated with grandeur, has been known for its exceptional creativity and has bagged numerous awards in the past. This year, the Tala Pratyay committee received yet another prestigious recognition by being one of the four puja committees awarded by Raj Bhavan.

Surprisingly, Luminous Club announced their decision to decline the award. Other nominees for this distinguished award included 'Bandhudal Sporting Club' of Barahnagar, North 24 Parganas, and 'Netaji Colony Low Land' of Barahnagar.

The authorities of Tala Prattoy, society, shared insights into the recognition, highlighting the unique camaraderie among Durga Puja organizers in Kolkata. They  mentioned that the selection process usually involves applications and a panel of judges, yet a strong sense of brotherhood and camaraderie underlies the competition. In a departure from the norm, Tala Prattoy did not apply for the award, opting to let the bonding between Durga Puja committees in Kolkata take precedence. However, they left room for consideration in the future, suggesting that they may participate if the competition adheres to established rules and guidelines.
