Sweet harmony: Governor sends Vijayadashami greetings to CM and ministers

In the midst of an ongoing tussle over various issues in the state, Governor CV Anand Bose extended his warm Vijayadashami greetings to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and several ministers, with the traditional gesture of distributing Vijaya sweets. This unexpected act of goodwill signals a brief respite in the otherwise contentious state politics. The sweets and good wishes were not limited to the Chief Minister alone; they also reached several ministers and IPS officers in the state, fostering a momentary spirit of unity.

.The primary source of conflict, involving the appointment of a Vice Chancellor, remains unresolved. Nevertheless, this Vijayadashami gesture of sharing sweets and greetings signifies a step towards reconciliation. According to sources,  greetings and wishes were also extended to members like Bratya Basu, Shashi Panja, Arup Roy, Arup Biswas, Chandrima Bhattacharya, and Shobhandev Chatterjee. However, the Governor's greetings were not extended to all state cabinet members.

Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and Speaker Biman Banerjee found their place on the list, emphasizing a broader sentiment of unity and cooperation.
