Every year, Durga Puja pandals in West Bengal draw vast crowds of attendees who come to revel in the fervor, fun, and food while admiring the beautifully themed decorations.
These lavishly adorned pandals often become social media sensations, thanks to content creators. However, one Kolkata pandal, Purbachal Shakti Sangha, has taken a different stance by prominently displaying a message outside its entrance that reads, "No YouTuber allowed."
The move garnered mixed reactions on social media, with some applauding the decision and others finding it discriminatory. While one user praised the decision as a way to address what they considered an increasing nuisance from content creators, another pointed out the perceived hypocrisy of initially inviting YouTubers and then banning them. Despite the differing opinions, this action by the puja committee has ignited discussions on the role of content creators and influencers during festive events.
