The annual Durga Puja festival, a cultural centerpiece of West Bengal, is set to proceed without weather disruptions this year. The Meteorological Department issued a statement confirming that the weather in metropolitan Kolkata and other parts of the state is expected to remain clear throughout the week.
The minimum temperature in Kolkata stands at 26.1 degrees Celsius, just one degree above normal, with a maximum of 33.2 degrees Celsius. There has been no rainfall in the last 24 hours, and there are no rain forecasts for the upcoming week. This prediction assures the uninterrupted celebration of Durga Puja.
In addition to Kolkata, areas such as Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura are expected to experience similar weather conditions. North Bengal regions like Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong are also forecasted to have normal weather. With this week-long clear weather outlook, it is anticipated that the Durga Puja festivities, attracting lakhs of visitors from across the country and the world, will remain unhampered.
