Traffic in South Kolkata came to a standstill as Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters gathered for the 'Raj Bhavan Chalo Abhiyan' march on Wednesday, leading to major congestion in the area.
1. March Route: The rally, organized by the TMC, commenced at Rabindra Sadan, just in front of Moharkunj. From there, it proceeded along Jawaharlal Nehru Road, crossed Park Street, and reached Esplanade. Afterward, it took a left turn from Rani Rashmoni Avenue and circled around an island before heading straight to the North Gate of Raj Bhavan via Red Cross Road.
2. Traffic Snarls: The gathering for the 'Raj Bhavan Chalo Abhiyan' began at 1:30 PM, causing a traffic nightmare in the affected areas of South Kolkata. Roads were clogged, and commuters faced long delays as they navigated through the congested streets.Park Street, Theatre Road, AJC Bose Road, Park Circus, Esplanade severely affected.
3. TMC's Initiative: The march was organized as part of the TMC's ongoing efforts to highlight various issues, including demands for the equitable distribution of central funds for West Bengal and other regional concerns. The party's leaders and supporters participated in the rally, drawing attention to their grievances through peaceful demonstrations and public gatherings.
