Tajinderpal Singh Toor clinches gold  in men's shotput final at the Asian Games 2023

Indian athlete Tajinderpal Singh Toor secured a remarkable victory at the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, clinching the 13th gold medal for the country in the men's shotput final event. Toor, who holds the Asian record in the discipline, displayed exceptional prowess in his last and best attempt, hurling the 7.26 kg iron ball to an impressive distance of 20.36 meters. This victory marks his second consecutive gold medal in the Asian Games.

In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Toor managed three clean throws out of six attempts, gradually improving his mark with each throw. Despite facing early challenges with two consecutive fouls, he bounced back with throws measuring 19.51 meters, 20.06 meters, and the winning 20.36 meters.

This triumph in the men's shotput final is India's second gold medal in athletics at the Asian Games 2023, following Avinash Sable's victory in the men's 3000m steeplechase event.
