Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
In a recent theft case in Keshtopur, a surprising twist has emerged as the police suspect the involvement of a criminal who was disguised as an elderly woman. The incident unfolded in the residence of the Tapadia family, located in the A-E block of Rabindrapalli, Keshtopur.
On a Wednesday evening, while the family members were away attending a function at a relative's place, an individual, seemingly disguised as an elderly woman, was captured on CCTV footage breaking into the house. The intruder proceeded to tamper with a cupboard lock and made off with cash amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh and gold jewelry.
Upon their return, the family was informed about the incident by the elderly woman present at home during the theft. Subsequently, a formal complaint was lodged with the Baguiati police station. Responding to the complaint, Aishwarya Sagar, Bidhannagar Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport Zone), visited the site on Thursday morning. She interacted with the family and conducted an inspection of the premises.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have taken one individual into custody.
