In response to the increasing cases of dengue among students, Jadavpur University has announced plans to provide free treatment for those affected by the disease. The university has witnessed a rise in dengue cases, particularly among students residing in the hostels. Several students have already left the hostel premises due to concerns over dengue, and some have returned home for treatment. One of the university's researchers is currently receiving medical care in a hospital, along with approximately seven other students who are also hospitalized. Reports indicate that a total of eight to nine students from the university have been diagnosed with dengue. As a precautionary measure, university officials are considering the possibility of vacating the university hostels to mitigate the spread of the dengue outbreak.
