In a chilling discovery, the decomposed body of an elderly man, identified as Kalyan Bhattacharya, was found inside a house in the Baiganwadi area of Nayapatti, Nagerbazar, Dumdum. The grim incident has left the neighborhood in shock and raised numerous questions surrounding the circumstances of the man's death.
Kalyan Bhattacharya, a resident of Baiganwadi, was known to live alone, with relatives residing in Salt Lake. Concerns arose when family members were unable to contact him since Tuesday night. In response, they decided to visit his house.
Upon reaching Kalyan's residence, family members discovered—the house was locked from the outside, and smelled foul. Alarmed by these findings, they promptly reported the matter to the Nagerbazar police station.
In response to the report, officers from Nagerbazar police station rushed to the scene and broke into the house. They discovered Kalyan Bhattacharya's decomposed body. The police have since retrieved the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
An intriguing aspect of this case is that no signs of theft or damage to valuables within the house were observed, deepening the mystery surrounding Kalyan's death.
