Allu Arjun arrested days after woman died in Pushpa 2 premiere stampede
Sourabh Chandrakar, the mastermind of the Mahadev gambling app, is rumoured to have spent ₹200 crore on his extravagant wedding in Dubai earlier this year.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is currently investigating a ₹5,000 crore money laundering case against Sourabh Chandrakar and his business partner Ravi Uppal, has raised eyebrows over the extravagant expenses incurred during the wedding. Bollywood celebrities who attended and performed at the event have now become subjects of interest for the ED's interrogation, potentially including Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, and singer Neha Kakkar among others.
The ED probe into the Mahadev Online Betting case began in December last year, but the Bollywood connection has only recently emerged. It has been revealed that several Bollywood personalities were featured in YouTube videos promoting the Mahadev Online Betting app. Although the ED has not officially disclosed their names, it is alleged that a leading comedian, a character artiste, a prominent B-list male star, and a female comic star received payment from the platform for their endorsements.
On September 18, 2022, Sourabh Chandrakar allegedly organised another lavish party in Dubai at a seven-star luxury hotel, where Bollywood celebs were allegedly paid 40 crore to attend. Private jets were booked to fly family members from Nagpur to Dubai for the wedding in February, while Bollywood stars, wedding planners, dancers, and decorators were brought in from Mumbai. Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Asgar, Vishal Dadlani, Elli AvrRam, Bharti Singh, Bhagyashree, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Krushna Abhishek, and other well-known musicians were among the wedding's star-studded roster of musical guests.
The ED has seized assets worth ₹417 crore in connection with the case from various locations, including Bhopal, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
