AAP announces 1000 per month to women if voted back to power
A cooperative bank in Haldia, East Medinipur, fell victim to a heist that saw approximately Rs 12 to 13 lakh stolen from the bank's vault. The theft took place on Wednesday afternoon in the jurisdiction of the Sutahata police station.
A gang of robbers made their way into the cooperative bank, where they proceeded to break into the vault, making off with the funds of customers. However, their audacity didn't stop there. As they exited the bank after the robbery, they also seized the hard disk containing the CCTV camera footage, obstructing the police's initial attempts to investigate the incident thoroughly.
The circumstances surrounding the robbers' entry and exit remain unclear, as the missing CCTV footage left investigators in the dark. To solve this case, authorities are now scouring CCTV footage from nearby shops and residences, hoping to identify the culprits. This incident is the latest in a string of criminal activities targeting financial institutions in the region.
Notably, the same company experienced a major jewelry showroom robbery in Purulia city and Ranaghat in Nadia few days ago. Additionally, an attempted robbery occurred at the State Bank of India in Purulia. This time the robbery incident took place in East Medinipur district.
