Thailand announces e-visa for Indians from Jan 1, 60-day exemption to continue
The G20 Summit concluded with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praising the event as a milestone and commending India's active role during its presidency. Lavrov, during a press briefing after the summit, highlighted the clarity of purpose the summit provided and lauded India's presidency for successfully uniting G20 members, a rare achievement in the organization's history.
Lavrov acknowledged the active participation of BRICS member-countries, including Brazil, India, China, and South Africa, in advocating for the interests of the Global South and fostering collaboration among nations within the multilateral framework.
He strongly criticized Western countries for attempting to steer the agenda towards Ukraine-related issues, emphasizing that the consolidated positions of Global South nations prevented this redirection and ensured discussions remained focused on the challenges facing developing countries.
Lavrov also commented on the New Delhi G20 Leaders' Declaration, describing it as a "healthy solution" that achieved a clear and equitable balance of interests among member-states.
