Fencing work triggers altercation at Indo-Ban border in Malda
Amid the Durga Puja preparations, a program was organized in Sukanta Udyan to inspire and uplift transgender individuals. The program, with the slogan "Let's Celebrate Durga's Arrival with Them," aimed to bring smiles to the faces of transgender individuals and boost their morale.
In today's society, transgenders are often marginalized. In order to encourage and cheer up transgender people, a programme was organised in Sukanta Udyan by women's empowerment initiatives.
Several esteemed guests, including Monali Paul, Amit Agarwal, social worker Tinkori Datta, and Satish Sharma, were present at the program. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Rekha Sharma, the chairperson of Women's Empowerment, emphasized that transgender individuals have the right to be happy and should be treated like ordinary people in society.
Santosh, the director of Kolkata Rishta, shared that transgender individuals still do not have full rights today, and they do not have the same access to all the comforts of life as ordinary people.
