Gadar 2, the blockbuster sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, is on the verge of achieving a remarkable milestone in Bollywood. After its release on August 11, the movie has garnered an astounding ₹510 crore at the domestic box office, positioning it as the second-highest-grossing Hindi film, right behind Baahubali 2 (Hindi).
"Gadar 2's phenomenal success is inching it closer to the next milestone: surpassing Baahubali 2 (Hindi) as the SECOND-HIGHEST grossing Hindi film TODAY [Fri]," announced Taran Adarsh on Instagram.
Gadar 2, which saw a box office clash with Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi's OMG 2, has shattered multiple records in the industry. It swiftly reached the ₹450 crore mark, set the record for the highest second-weekend earnings, and boasted the highest box office figures on Independence Day.
The film brings back the iconic duo of Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, reprising their beloved roles as Tara and Sakeena. Gadar 2 also introduces director Anil Sharma's son, Utkarsh Sharma, in a prominent role. With its monumental success, Gadar 2 cements its place as a cinematic phenomenon in the world of Hindi cinema.
