President Draupadi Murmu Arrives in Kolkata to Launch Advanced Warship Vindhyagiri

Kolkata welcomed President Draupadi Murmu as she arrived to mark a significant naval event. President Murmu is scheduled to launch the Vindhyagiri, the sixth warship of the Project 17A Frigates, at the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited in Kolkata today.

The Project 17A Frigates are the latest generation of advanced warships that build upon the success of the Project 17 Class Frigates. These vessels come with enhanced stealth features, advanced weaponry, state-of-the-art sensors, and cutting-edge platform management systems. The launch of Vindhyagiri showcases the nation's commitment to strengthening its naval capabilities and ensuring maritime security.

The ceremony, is attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Governor CV Anand Bose, MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt, Cmde PR Hari IN(Retd), Chairman and Managing Director, GRSE, Smt. Priya Hari and top naval officials, defense personnel, and dignitaries, will mark a pivotal moment in India's naval modernization efforts. What is Kwizdom 2023:

Taaza TV and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE), under the Ministry of Defence, are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of "KWIZDOM 2023," a thrilling quiz contest held with 53,000 students from 112 schools across Kolkata and Howrah participating in this grand celebration of Glorious India. The event was organized as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, commemorating India's 75th Year of Independence.
