Indian Air Force acquires advanced Israeli NLOS missiles, bolstering firepower

In a significant advancement of its firepower, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully acquired Israeli NLOS (Non-Line-Of-Sight) anti-tank guided missiles.

The highly advanced missile system is specifically designed to target concealed enemy assets located behind mountains, providing the IAF with a formidable long-range strike capability. With an impressive range of up to 30 km, the Spike missiles offer precision targeting of distant threats. The acquisition process has been completed, and the IAF is now set to conduct trials to assess the missiles' effectiveness in real-world scenarios.

The procurement of the Spike NLOS missiles was initiated by the Indian government two years ago, signifying a strategic move to enhance the country's defense capabilities. These advanced missiles will be integrated into the IAF's attack helicopters, including the Mi-17 and the indigenous 'Prachand' helicopter, further augmenting their firepower and operational reach.

The Indian Army is also gearing up to conduct its tests of the Spike NLOS missiles, expanding the scope of these cutting-edge weapons across different branches of the Indian Armed Forces.
