Jabalpur women face distress as police allegedly ignore complaints of obscene photo uploads

This menace has prompted more than a dozen women to file complaints with the police, seeking action against the accused. However, despite their continuous efforts for the past 15 days, the police allegedly remain unresponsive to their pleas.

The accused individual creates fake accounts on social media to upload these doctored images, where women are shown in inappropriate situations with their family members, including their father-in-law and brother-in-law. Most of the complaints have been lodged by women residing in the Sanjay Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of the Aadhartal police station.

The victims claim that whenever they approach the police with a complaint against the accused, the fake ID is deactivated, only for the accused to resurface with a new ID and continue the shameful act. Women have expressed their distress, stating that they have stopped leaving their homes due to the trauma caused by these obscene uploads.

One woman, whose picture was manipulated and shared in a lewd manner, recounted the horrifying experience when several people alerted her to the offensive content on social media. Similar incidents have been reported by other victims as well, who are now seeking justice and action against the culprit.

Despite reaching out to the police, the women claim that no concrete action has been taken so far. In response to the mounting complaints and distressing situation, the victims have gathered at the SP office, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. They have warned that if the police fail to take action promptly, they may be compelled to take extreme steps, including suicide.

City Superintendent of Police Priyanka Shukla assured that the matter is being taken seriously, and the cyber cell has been directed to take necessary action in this regard.
