Former MP CM Kamal Nath condemns gangrape of minor, calls for action against shivraj government

Madhya Pradesh Congress president and former CM Kamal Nath on Friday attacked the Shivraj-led government after a minor was gangraped with wooden logs inserted in her private parts in Satna. Nath, who ended the gangrape of a minor as heinous as 'Nirbhaya 2012', requested CM Shivraj to provide best medical care and financial assistance of ₹ 1 crore to the girl.

Kamal Nath tweeted on Friday that the victim was subjected to an inhuman attack reminiscent of the "Nirbhaya case".

“The incident of rape of a minor girl in Maiharu is highly condemnable. Incidents of atrocities on girls in the state have shown that the Shivraj government has completely failed to ensure the safety of sisters and daughters. I demand from the Chief Minister that the victim be given the best treatment and financial assistance of Rs 1 crore immediately,” Nath said in a tweet.

Speaking to the media in Bhopal, he launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, saying, "There are many such incidents which do not come to the fore. Madhya Pradesh today is infamous in the country for rape and atrocities on women and children". This is the picture of the state today. There is no system, no law and order, there is only corruption.”

Notably, an 11-12-year-old girl was allegedly dragged to the hills and gang-raped in a village in Satna on Thursday. The accused youths inserted a wooden log into her private parts. The victim was taken to hospital and is said to be in critical condition.
